Unlike most people in the health and fitness industry, my passion for fitness did not come naturally, easily or early in life. I have always struggled with a few extra pounds, even though I was active and played sports growing up. As an adult, things didn’t get better.
During a 10-year career in education, my resolve to be active and healthy constantly fluctuated, my weight along with it, until I was forced to take an honest look at myself and the unhealthy choices I was making. Not everything changed overnight. I didn’t suddenly love going to the gym and eating healthy.
Finally after incorporating a series of small manageable lifestyle changes, I could recognize and begin to enjoy the sustainable positive effects that were taking place. Over time, I began to realize and appreciate the value of feeling strong not only physically but mentally.
No one was more surprised than me that health and fitness would become my passion. During the last few years this passion culminated in my earning two accreditations; NASM Certified Personal Trainer and ACE Certified Health Coach.
As a result of my experience with personal struggles and triumphs, I am able to offer empathy and support to my clients because I have been where they are. I get it. It is my mission to provide clients with tools, guidance, and encouragement, to enable positive and lifelong changes so they can reach health, fitness, and nutrition goals.
