Who I Am

My name is Audra Oglesbee. I am a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, a group fitness instructor, and I hold bachelor and master of arts degrees in Organizational Management. I am also an amazing wife (just ask my husband), a cool maternal figure, a plant mom, a dual canine owner and enabler, a multi-chicken whisperer (feathered kind), a self-made kitchen guru, an amateur gardener, a sweaty hiker, an out-of-control collector of information, an admirer of natural beauty and excellence, and according to my therapist, the keeper of dead souls. I am edging up on the mid-point of my fiftieth decade on this glorious planet, and every decade has honestly been my new favorite to date. As a lifelong learner, I am naturally a constant and never-ending improver. I love experimenting with change professionally and personally, whether educating myself, challenging my fitness state, adjusting my routines for better sleep/mental calmness, creatively hiding vegetable content in a modified recipe, or simply reading about anything and everything.

Who I Was

I was given the life sentence of Crohn’s disease in 2003, after years of misdiagnoses, including my favorite one of “stress,” thus insinuating I created the symptoms in my mind. However, this isn’t completely incorrect as the brain-gut connection is very real. I was informed that I would be on medication for life (at a monthly cost of $1,800), and could expect disruptive hospitalizations and a few lucky bowel surgeries. This all did play out but solely as a result of various injuries from a car crash in 2017. I have suffered from anxiety, PTSD and overwhelming fear in the aftermath as well, so I understand fully how paralyzing mental health issues can be, and how overwhelming you may feel. I am no longer in therapy of any kind, unless dog cuddles during thunderstorms count, and…drumroll…I am officially off my medication, with continued undetectable inflammatory bowel disease. “Can-I” is tattooed on my inside right wrist as a reminder, along with a floral moon for my oldest, and 3 asterisks for my youngest, of the power in constant and never-ending improvement. Can-I? Yes, I can—and YOU can too!

Who I Will Be

For you, my client, I will walk (or jog, as I am not much of a runner) beside you on your journey of awareness, understanding, accepting, developing, organizing, and whatever else you need from me. I am skilled at process improvement, behavior change, and goal setting while considering challenges. I will provide a non-judgmental reflective space. I will actively listen, inquire for clarity, and support you in creating a personalized priority plan toward your ultimate wellness vision. By prioritizing the use of core strengths to identify first possible steps, it’s easier to imagine a sustainable personalized forward momentum plan. As a functional medicine certified health coach, I can provide insight and information regarding evidence-based guidelines on behavior advancement for modifiable personal lifestyle factors, such as exercise & movement, sleep & relaxation, food choices, and stress reduction.

Personalized Priority Planning

If you have a new diagnosis, or a strong desire to improve an area(s) of your life, and are overwhelmed with all of the web content with the “shoulds and musts,” let’s chat and talk through possibilities and choices that will work for your individual needs and goals.

Out of Chaos Comes Possibility

The choices are endless, and I am not referring to a buffet in Las Vegas. Overwhelm can lead to analysis paralysis resulting in avoidance, where you seek refuge on Someday Island. Why? Because the status quo is more comfortable than change. Let’s chat. My sessions are client-centered, client-focused. You are the expert on YOU!

Who I am Not

I do not pretend to be an expert on anything in particular, including a one-size-fits-all blueprint to sustainable change. My scope of practice does not include diagnosing illness or mental health conditions. I cannot and will not treat in place of licensed medical professionals.
